Friday, January 27, 2006 PORTH DINLLAEN in Wales

Top photo is probably one of the loveliest hamlets in Wales, a couple of miles from Nefyn on the Lleyn Penninsular, can only reached by a two mile walk along the beach or a similar walk through the golf course. Porth Dinllaen was orginally in contention with Holyhead to be developed as the ferry terminal to Ireland, guess which won! There's a lovely pub right in the centre of the photo (the red building) called the Coch Inn, visit http://www.tycoch.co.uk/WallHome.htm for the webcam! The second picture is a small bay with a lifeboat station past the white building to the left on the webcam. There is a narrow cliffside walk to this bay. That's 12 Year Old at the end of the path.
